THE RAKES
Bio:
The Rakes est un groupe de rock britannique formé en 2003 à Londres autour de Matthew Swinnerton et Jamie Hornsmith.
En 2004 ils signent avec la maison de disques V2 Records, se font remarquer pour leur performance live aux Transmusicales de Rennes et effectuent la même année la première partie de la tournée française de Bloc Party.
En 2005 sort leur premier album, Capture/Release, alors qu'ils font la première partie de la tournée européenne de Franz Ferdinand.
Début 2006 les Rakes sortent un nouvel EP intitulé All Too Human. C'est également en 2006 qu'ils effectueront leur première tournée en solo. En avril 2006, CanalSat utilise le dernier single du groupe, Open Book, pour sa nouvelle publicité télévisuelle.
C'est durant cette même année que le groupe prend part à l'album "Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited" où un bon nombre de groupes y ont participé ( Franz Ferdinand, Placebo ...). ils ont donc reprit sur ce disque le célèbre Poinçonneur des Lilas qui devient Just a Man with A job.
En mars 2007 devrait sortir leur deuxième album.
